Quality Engineer

Job Description Summary: Responsible for all aspects of the Quality system are met in order to produce and ship product that meets customer and company specifications.
Provides leadership for problem resolution in the above assigned areas to facilitate improvements in these areas.
Responsible for revision of the Quality Assurance Manual to reflect any changes in quality policies.
Lead the plant team in the development and implementation of quality improvement projects
Review drawings from RFQ's to determine feasibility and provide input on quote development.
Responsible for developing of and revising of quality and Operation Procedures as the need arises.
Develop, and maintain Process Sheets for Molding, Melting, Cleaning Room and Core Assembly.
Internal auditing of Quality Assurance manual and Quality Systems
Maintain customer files with current prints of product specifications and correspondence from customer.
Issuance of Return material Authorizations to facilitate customer returns.
Development of corrective action plans, with the input from the Production leadership team when casting problems are identified.
Metallurgical review, Reviews of chemistries, Brinnel hardness, Nodularity and microstructures.
Analysis of scrap to determine the defect, the cause of the defect, and ways to reduce the defect.
Communicating with suppliers and customers to ensure that customer's specifications are met, and company quality guidelines are met.
Provide leadership for in process Testing
Must maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Must know and obey all safety guidelines set forth by the companyJob Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Be able to function in an office and factory environment
Must be able to read and understand customer part specifications.
Knowledge of general factory procedures, and product terminology
Strong communication skills, with an ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy
Must be able to set up, run and interpret MAGMA SOFT solidification simulations.
Must be skilled in gating, OSHA regulations, and QPS.
Detail oriented, self-starter, intermediate skills with MS Office suite, Basic CAD skills and report writing skills.
Degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering, 5 years of experience with Quality systems, 10 years of iron casting process. Management experience a plus
Must posses the ability to write and respond to routine correspondence and reports, as well as speak clearly, professionally, and confidentially with internal and external customers.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve quality and process issues based on collected data and knowledge of the process.
Physical Demands
This position works in the plant environment and must be able to walk, sit, climb stairs, and bend in order to effectively perform this position

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
