Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate, develop, design and implement equipment, systems and facilities performing the following duties:
Responsible for new and existing equipment and facility projects.
Review assigned projects to define, design, develop and deploy the most workable solution utilizing the least amount of resources.
Design and draft drawings or sketches to request parts fabrication by machine shops, instruct contractors, maintenance and/or machine shops how to demo, fabricate, build and install facilities, systems and machines.
Devise, fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components, assemblies or systems measuring instruments.
Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization and quality control.
Analyze indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives. Modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data and recommendations for changes in product or test method.

Competencies
Must have good mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic system design and troubleshooting skills.
Solid oral and written communication skills.
High degree of attention to detail; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
Works within approved budget; conserves organizational resources.
Ability to gather, organize, develop, interpret, analyze, prioritize, manage and work on multiple projects.
Strong technical understanding of Federal and State safety regulations.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Excellent interpersonal skills - tactful, respectful, professional, nonjudgmental, good listener, reacts well under pressure.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical
engineering
or a related degree.
Minimum of five years heavy industrial engineering experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Office and AutoCAD/Inventor programs.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
